Saving and Naming Files on QXS
Everything we create lives on QXS, more ominously known as, "The Server."
This isn't the Wild West, where you can do anything you want, like backing up your non-church-friendly iTunes library. So we've put together a few rules to keep in mind as you save content to QXS.

What to Save to QXS
In short, save everything you create on QXS. But here are some specifics:
- Upload any raw footage, audio files, or other assets to QXS as soon as possible.
- Save all Project Files and/or working design files in case edits need to be made in the future.
- Save all exports, encodes, and final versions of files to its respective folder on QXS.
- Our storage system is set up to automatically back up files.
- Do not save any duplicate files, personal files, computer backups, or anything else not related to your project.
Naming Structure
Using the correct naming structure goes a long way towards making your workflow smooth and efficient, and helps our systems to better handle background jobs. Here are the essential rules for naming files and folders on QXS:
- QXS is organized primarily by Year. Starting in 2024, the folder structure will start with three distinctions: 00_Capture, 01_Initiatives, and 03_PartnerSpecific.
00_Capture: Content captured from the platform (i.e. sermons)
01_Initiatives: Pre-Planned initiatives that affect multiple teams (i.e. Pastor's book release, YTHX, or Reflect)
02_PartnerSpecific: Content that pertains only to a certain team/area (i.e. Campus Event promos)
- Your team will have a folder beneath 02_PartnerSpecific, and you have the freedom to organize your team's folder to best fit your workflow.
- Best practice is for Project Managers to create filepaths, and designer/videographers to upload to those filepaths.
- Do not use any spaces or special characters in folder or file names. (' , | ! & etc.)
- Do not designate files as "FINAL". Use version numbers instead (i.e. v1, v2, v3)
