Understanding: Production Slack Workspace Operation Standards
Elevation Weekend Slack Standards
These are the standards and expectations for weekend communication in Slack.
Channels:
- There will be a unique channel for every event.
Members:
- It is Production Director discretion to add leaders from their campus, however we feel it should be limited to volunteer producers, directors, Sound Engineers, and FOH assistants.
Pro Leaders Channel
- This channel is exclusively for information pertaining to weekend operation and programming updates. Due to the large number of people in this channel, only one representative from each campus, typically the Production Director, should be posting. Please be conscious of the time of day you're posting.
Posting:
- We ask that only one person from each campus, each weekend, represent that campus with questions and responses. Please instruct other members to relay information to the point person to ensure your campus is updated.
General:
- Like a message to confirm you understand and have taken the appropriate steps to implement instructions.
- Non-point people at a campus can like messages and then relay information to others. We will verify that each campus is represented, not necessarily needing the point people to always confirm.
- Always reply to messages using threads. This keeps notifications for members to a minimum and helps the Slack channel stay organized.
Overall Communication
- The Weekend threads need to be strictly business. With so many people in the group, the thread can get out of hand quickly. While not intending to put a cloud over positive comments, we really need to limit posts to only content related to weekend execution. Since this thread is the first place to make people aware of problems, keeping it clear will help clarity in resolving issues.
Communicating Clearly
- All postings about problems need to contain as much detail as possible. There is a big difference between the two following statements:
- ^Link is down
- ^Link video is black however all 8 audio channels are coming through correctly.
- The more detail provided, the faster problems can be identified and solutions implemented.
If you need assistance please connect with your staff Production Director, Worship Leader, or team leader.
