How To: Joining and Setting Up Slack
This article will show and explain how to join and use Slack; Production's weekend communication tool.

Before you start:
- Connect with your Production Director or Worship Leader to receive a link to join.

Download the Slack App on your computer and phone.
Part 1 - Joining Slack
- Click the link emailed to you by your team lead. Follow the prompts and fill in the requested information.
Part 2 - Update Your Profile
- Please fill this out on the desktop version since you can only edit your basic information on the mobile app.
- Click the user icon in the upper right, then select profile.
- Profile
- Please include full name. Do not include your campus in your profile name.
- Only staff will fill in the title.
- Add a picture of you looking at the camera. Please no candids, avatars, or other types of photos.
- Contact information.
- Please include your email. Phone number is at your discretion.
- About Me
- Make a selection for each section.
Part 3 - Notification Settings
DESKTOP
- Click the user icon in the upper right, then select preferences.
- Select to be notified about all new messages.
- Uncheck "use different settings for my mobile devices"
- Feel free to customize the other options like Sidebar and themes.
MOBILE
- Click "You" in the bottom right of the interface to open your profile.
- Choose notifications. Match the following settings
- Under Notification Schedule, chose every day and set the time window to be appropriate to your role.
