Understanding: Production Execution Language
This article is intended to provide language suggestions on communication between different positions on the Production Team.
Welcome/Close
To Switcher
“Preview” Graphic, T2, Video - Communicates to switcher to select an input on the preview bus
“Take It” - Communicates to the switcher to transition graphic on screen
“Pull It” - Communicates to the switcher to transition graphic off screen
To CG1
“Preview” Nameslide, VIP, Giving - Communicates the slide the CG op needs to have previewed
“You’re Live” - Communicates to the CG Op that they are on the screen to not select another Graphic
“You’re Clear” - Communicates to the CG op that they are no longer on screen
Worship
To Switcher
“Take Lyrics” - Communicates to switcher to auto trans lyrics ON the screens or use Lyric Macro.
“Pull Lyrics” - Communicates to switcher to auto trans lyrics OFF the screens or Lyric Clear Macro.
From CG1
Slide Count - Communicate when there are 5 slides left in each song, as well as the last slide of each song.
Videos
To Switcher
“Preview P2 or Preview Resi" - Communicates to switcher to preview video source
“Fire, Take it” - Director should always fire the video/Resi first and then cue the switcher to transition it on screens (Auto Trans or P2 Macro/Resi Macro). If your campus has Roll Clip for videos from T2 or Ross Talk for Resi enabled, the video will play once it is taken to PGM.
To FOH and V-Control
Time left in Videos - This helps keep everyone attentive of when the video will end. Communicate the following times left in videos when applicable:
3:00 // 2:00 // 1:00 // 00:30 // 00:10 second countdown "10,9,8..."
Add “Left in Video” once you communicate each time. Example: "One Minute left in Video."
