How To: Licensing Tracks on Musicbed
This article walks through how to access our Musicbed Subscription Roster and the proper process for licensing.
Part 1 - Roster Access
Part 2 - Licensing Tracks
Part 3 - YouTube
Part 4 - Other Information
Before you start, you will need to create a Musicbed account with your elevationchurch.org email.
- Go to musicbed.com and create a free account
- Submit a Tech ticket requesting access to the subscription roster.
- You'll be sent an invite link to join. Once accepted, continue below for the licensing process.
Part 1 - Roster Access
- After you have accepted the invite, you have the ability to select Elevation Film as your account access. Click the three dots in the upper right and select Elevation Film.
- After selecting the Elevation Film account, ensure you’re browning by Subscription and not all songs. This way, your search results will only be songs covered by our membership. Tracks that require additional purchase should not be used.
Part 2 - Licensing Tracks
- One part of our membership agreement is to keep a record of tracks that are used in situations that would have previously required licensing fees.
- All tracks that air in a worship experience or social media post MUST be licensed correctly BEFORE they air.
- When ready to license a track, click License.
-
Click “Use Subscription”
- Fill in the project name and title.
- Use Elevation Church for the End Client.
- Enter a description as needed.
Part 3 - YouTube
Musicbed has worked with YouTube to prevent claims from being filed against videos that contain tracks which are covered under our membership agreement. In order for this to work, a Project’s SyncID must be added to the description of the video when it is uploaded.
- To obtain the SyncID, click My Projects from the top menu.
- Select the project, then click the Licenses tab.
- Click SyncID on the right and it will instantly copy it.
- Then paste the SyndID in the description of the video when it’s uploaded.
Part 4 - Other Information
- All tracks on the roster can be used for Church Playlists.
- Use tracks for anything other than church related projects. Our membership agreement is for Elevation Church use only. Tracks can NOT be used in any freelance projects without properly licensing and paying the necessary fee. If a Musicbed track is desired in a freelance project, when clicking the cart, select Purchase Single Song.
- License the song in the necessary manner.
- The individual must pay for each track used for non church projects.
