Logging into the Resolve Project Server
There is an M1 Mac Mini in CER that currently runs the DaVinci Project Server for EW, as well as a small instance of Axle. Remote Desktop/Screen Sharing is disabled at the login screen.
In the event of that machine restarting, locking up, or creating a bottleneck for EW editors, here is how to restart and login to that machine:
- Start by pinging the machine in Terminal to see if it is online at all:
Open Terminal, type: ping 10.1.65.51
- If it's online, it's likely stuck at the login screen. If not, it needs to be powered on manually in CER.
- To login, go to CER, find the Mac Mini (see attached photo)
- Go to the back of the rack and plug in the keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
If the monitor says, "No Signal," it's likely asleep. Press some buttons on the keyboard to wake the computer.
- Click the user Axle Admin and enter the password found in Last Pass.
It's listed in Last Pass as "Resolve Project Server."
Once the computer is logged in, you're done. There's no need to open any apps for the Project Server to work.
