Before you start:
- If you have not been given permission use this system, please do not attempt to do so.
- A passcode is required for use. Please connect with your eKidz Director or Team Leader for access.
Part 1 - Overview and Getting Started
- Q-Sys is a network based control system for operating video, audio, and lighting systems. All control is through a table top touchscreen.
- To get started, tap the touchscreen once to wake it up. You will see the main background displaying the room's name.
- Tap the screen to continue to the passcode entry.
- Input the passcode and press ENTER to access the main control page.
- To turn on the projector, press the power button in the upper left.
- This button will slightly dim while the projector turns on. Once the projector is on, the button will be green indicating an active status.
- The source options on the left determine which input source goes to the projector.
- Preschool / Elementary - This is the weekend curriculum generated by Playlister from an Apple TV.
- This is the option used on Sunday during church services.
- Computer - This is the local computer in the room.
- This option will be used if displaying content from the local computer.
- Live - This is the feed from the auditorium.
- This option would most commonly be selected if the room is used for event overflow.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Audio will only be audible from the selected source. This is to prevent multiple audio sources coming through the speakers at one time.
- For example, if the Live source is selected, even though audio is playing from the computer and the computer fader is up, computer audio will not come through the speakers until the computer source is selected.
- The mics and bodypack however will work with any source selected.
Part 2 - Playing Weekend Content
- The weekend curriculum will automatically launch in Playlister at a pre-determined time. You do not need to use the remote to start the file.
- On Sunday morning, after logging in to the touchscreen, select the Preschool / Elementary source on the left.
- Use the corresponding audio fader to adjust the volume of the content to the desired level. Confirm the channel is unmuted (mute button below the fader is black. Red means muted.)
- The fader will display a highlight of color on the sides to indicate audio is metering.
Part 3 - Using the Local Computer
- To use the computer in the theater, select the Computer source.
- Use the corresponding audio fader to adjust the volume of the content to the desired level. Confirm the channel is unmuted (mute button below the fader is black. Red means muted.)
- If audio is not coming through, confirm on the computer that the audio output is set to NV-32-H.
Part 4 - Using the Live Feed from the Auditorium
- To use the auditorium feed, select the Live source.
- Use the corresponding audio fader to adjust the volume of the content to the desired level. Confirm the channel is unmuted (mute button below the fader is black. Red means muted.)
Part 5 - Lighting
- There are two zones for lighting.
- Front Wash: these are the lights near the projector that face the stage.
- Stage Lights: these are the lights facing the audience.
- To turn on the Front Wash, select the ON button. To turn it off, select the OFF button.
- To turn on the Stage Lights, select the desired color. To turn the Stage Lights off, select the OFF button at the bottom right of the page.
Part 6 - Using the Mics and Bodypack
- The mics and body pack will normally be on the table top in the charging station.
- Grab what is needed, and turn them on. The light on the mic will be green when it's active. If the light is red, press the button once.
- To use the bodypack with a headset, connect the headset to the pack.
- To use the bodypack with an instrument (acoustic guitar, keyboard, etc.), connect the 1/4" adapter found in the the rack drawer to the bodypack and instrument.
- Use the corresponding audio fader to adjust the volume of the unit to the desired level. Confirm the channel is unmuted (mute button below the fader is black. Red means muted.)
- Place the units back on the charging station when finished.
Part 7 - Using the Stage Inputs
- If patching any instruments from the stage, connect the device into one of the 8 inputs on the wall.
- In the upper left of the touchscreen, select the 3 lines. This will open the Stage Inputs audio page.
- Use the corresponding audio fader, that matches the stage inputs used, to adjust the volume. Confirm the channel is unmuted (mute button below the fader is black. Red means muted.)
